It takes a village!
Please see below for links to sign up sheets (when applicable) for all of the needed volunteer slots we have to make this season run and support our players.
Team Parents:
Our coaches and the foundation need the help of dedicated parents to make sure information is being communicated and teams are remaining organized. It’s ideal to have more than one team parent per team, as having a buddy (or two) who has your back when you are busy can be instrumental when life happens. Teams are newly formed and we may need some volunteers to step up and help lead the pack.
Snack Shack:
All families are required to take on a minimum of one shift in the Snack Shack during home games. The shifts are roughly 1.5 hrs long:
3:30pm to 5:15pm = JV families (Open snack shack and man the shack during the Frosh/Soph game)
5pm to 6:45pm = Varsity families (Pick up Costco pizza and man the shack during the JV game)
6:45pm to 8:15pm = JV families (Man the shack during the Frosh/Soph game and close snack shack)
Your Team Parent will send out assigned snack shack shift responsibilities before games begin. You may trade shifts with other families, but all shifts must be covered or we can’t open the snack shack (and will lose expected income allocated to the program).
Team Dinners:
Player bonding off the court is important to how they gel on the court. Getting together for team dinners after practices, after games, or on off days is a great way to accomplish this. Whether it’s designating a nearby restaurant for a post-game meal or hosting a pot luck at your house, we are hoping all parents – not just the Team Parents – will take an active role in ensuring the team gets together for some non-basketball fun and relationship-building.
Game Fanfare Setup:
For each home game, we have some signage, pom poms, and other fun paraphernalia to set up to make the event fun for students and other attendees. Able to pop by the gym on game days around 3:30pm? Then perhaps you could set up. Able to hang around for a few minutes after the Varsity game? Then perhaps you could help us break it all down.
Event Support:
Board members and chairs take on the responsibility of planning all of the events that happen throughout the basketball season, and when it comes time to prep, run, and break down those events – it takes more of the village. If you like throwing parties, managing events, decorating, and reaching out to the community, we’d love your help when you can give it. Interested? Just email the foundation at agourabasketballfoundation@gmail.com to let us know to put you on the “call list.”
Boys Preseason Tournament:
We host Boys basketball games during one preseason tournament weekend each year and the Agoura Basketball Foundation gets a cut of the door action! This means we need to provide staff to man the door and collect entry fees / sell snack shack items. Parents, teen siblings, or AHS students welcome to take shifts.
Sponsorship Opportunities:
One of our key means of fundraising is selling sponsorships for our basketball season. Sponsorships can include gym/game sponsors (banners, score board/table visuals, announcements), halftime sponsors (exclusive sponsor, prize sponsors), Blue and Gold Night Raffle sponsors/prizes, and other creative ways to get businesses out in front of our large Conejo Valley (and adjacent) basketball community. Do you know business owners who may be interested? More information on sponsorship opportunities can be found here.
